Tell us how the building is used

A desk used every weekday, an occasional hobby room and a garden gym have different patterns of use. Explain your normal hours, the number of people and equipment in the space, and whether the building already has heating. These details are more useful than choosing a unit from its appearance alone.

Check the building before choosing equipment

Send the dimensions and any details available about wall, roof and floor insulation. Include the glazed area and existing shading. Heating and cooling should be considered alongside the building itself; adding equipment does not remove the need to understand its heat gains and losses.

Plan the desk and indoor unit together

Send a photo from the doorway showing your desk and the available wall space. Consider airflow where you sit, access to clean the unit and where pipes can leave the building. If video calls are part of your day, include that when discussing sound levels and fan settings.

The outside route matters too

Show the space around the building, fences and the route from the house. The outdoor unit needs a suitable position with the clearances and access required for the selected model. Drainage, pipework and the electrical supply also need checking. Do not assume an existing garden socket settles the electrical requirements.

Heating and running costs

A suitable reversible air-to-air system can heat and cool the room. Running costs depend on the model, building, tariff and how it is used. Ask how the proposed controls and timer work, and for the assumptions behind any estimate. We do not quote a universal daily running cost.

Questions before you enquire

Can you fit it before the garden room is finished?

Contact us with the build stage and drawings so routes and timing can be discussed with the other work. The sequence depends on the building and installation scope.

Does air conditioning provide fresh air?

Most standard split systems recirculate room air. Do not assume cooling replaces ventilation; tell us how fresh air is currently supplied to the office.

What should the quote cover?

Check the indoor and outdoor equipment, mounting, pipes, drainage, electrical scope, access and making good. Ask which work is included and which needs a separate arrangement.

Send us the details of your space

We welcome enquiries from Woodford Green, South Woodford and surrounding London and Essex areas. Check our service areas and send your postcode so we can discuss availability. A site assessment may be needed before equipment and a final price are agreed.
