Single split systems

One indoor unit connects to one outdoor unit to cool a room. A reversible model can heat the same room in winter. The indoor unit can sit high on a wall, low down or above a ceiling, depending on the model and the space.

The outdoor unit

Allow room outside for airflow and service access. A photo of the proposed position helps us check a suitable indoor and outdoor combination for your room.

Options and uses

High-wall units
A common choice for a bedroom or garden office. Think about where the air will blow when you are in bed or sitting at your desk. For a bedroom, compare the sound level at the fan speed you expect to use.
Floor consoles
A low-level unit is worth considering under a sloping ceiling or where there is little free wall space at head height. Check that furniture leaves the air outlet clear.
Concealed ducted units
The unit sits above the ceiling, with grilles visible in the room. A drawing or photo of the ceiling void helps establish whether there is space for the unit, ducts and service access.
