A multi-split connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit. Each room can have its own temperature setting. On a typical domestic system, rooms running at the same time share the heating or cooling mode.

Options and uses
Bedrooms used at different times
Separate indoor controls let you run just the rooms you need. Give the size of each bedroom and say which ones are likely to run together overnight.
Different units in different rooms
A high-wall unit downstairs can share an outdoor unit with a compatible floor console or concealed unit elsewhere. The indoor models and their combined capacity must appear in the outdoor unit’s combination data.
Adding to an existing system
A spare connection on the outdoor unit is only part of the check. The full model numbers of the outdoor unit and every connected indoor unit help identify suitable additions.
What to send for a quote
Room sizes, proposed indoor styles and which rooms will run together.
Possible outdoor position and approximate pipe route to each indoor unit.
Model labels from any existing equipment you want to keep.
