Drain hose and rigid pipe

When the indoor coil cools the air, water collects in its drain tray. The drain route, connection at the unit and available fall determine the choice of gravity drain pipe or hose.

Options and uses

Flexible drain hose: A flexible section can connect the indoor outlet to the main route. Give its internal diameter when matching a hose to a spigot.
Rigid condensate pipe: Straight pipe suits a longer supported run with defined changes of direction. Count the bends and adaptors separately and identify the pipe system they must fit.
Pump discharge tube: If a pump lifts the water, check the tubing specified for its discharge outlet. Include the pump model when replacing the tube.

What to send for a quote

Indoor unit or pump model and outlet size.
Length of the route, changes in level and whether it uses a pump.
Hose internal diameter or rigid pipe size and matching fittings.
